Starting out late in my career as a publisher of magazines, and after 30 years, I decided to finish some goals I had planned on accomplishing during my lifetime. The first was my memoir, Orchid After the Storm – the story of my early life and a doomed marriage that left me broken. It is a book that I needed to write to get some closure with the dishonest Louisiana judicial system and a man that tried to break me. Through this stormy journey, I learned a lot about myself and others, but most importantly, I learned that vengeful anger and hate will eat away at you, and that the best revenge is success. Music, and especially singing, has always been a part of my life, whether it was solo or in a chorus. So, after downsizing my business, I went back to college to study voice. For several years I studied the compositions of my favorite composer, Antoinio Carlos Jobim and also my great grandfather, William J. McCoy, a composer in the early 1900s. The first CD, WJ MCCoy Revisited, includes compositions and arrangements of my great grandfather set to today’s availability to electronic capabilities. The second CD, AC Jobim Revisited, was a dream come true when I sang with 3 incredibly talented musicians to the music that I have loved all my life. These CDs are available here.
